My Story

I enjoy Swimming and also fundraising, so why not combine the two?! Having recently returned to sport following injury, I am keen to embark on a new challenge.

Throughout the month of February I plan to swim the length of English Channel, from Dover to Calais - 21 miles, 1,344 lengths, 33,600m in a local swimming pool in aid of Operation Smile ............ I know, I must be mad, let's see how this goes. St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre have kindly given me free access for the month to take on this challenge, (I will also donate the cost of a month membership to the cause).

Operation Smile is a great charity. It is easy to take for granted the surgical care we have available. But for too many people around the world safe surgery is not an option.

Children born with cleft lip and palate in developing countries cannot access the surgery they desperately need for a healthy, happy future. Instead, they face difficulty breathing, eating, speaking, and are left to live in social isolation due to the stigma surrounding their condition.

It costs as little as £150 and takes just 45 minutes to provide this life-changing surgery.

Please support this challenge for Operation Smile and let's raise a smile! Together we can help provide free, safe surgery for people in need and ensure they have a healthy, thriving future.

Thank you so much!
